February 2012 : There's big news to report! Florida Parenting News, Inc.,
and Florida Family News have consolidated operations with Treasure Coast Parenting, creating the largest, free, monthly magazine targeting parents, grandparents, caregivers, and visitors of the Treasure Coast. Kara Ferraro will remain the publisher of Treasure Coast Parenting and Beth Walsh Eriksen, former Publisher of Florida Family News, will stay on as a Business Development Consultant.
“This is such an exciting time for us. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be teaming up with Beth Eriksen,” said Ferraro. “Beth has always had a ‘Live Your Priorities’ approach to everything she does as a mother, a friend, and a business owner and we are estatic that she is going to continue on with us as a Business Development Consultant.”
“For years, those familiar with both publications seemed to always try to pit us against one another, when in fact, Beth and I had such similar missions and we get along so great, it only made sense that we find a way to bring it all together under one roof. We believe this consolidation will bring tremendous value to both readers and advertising clients of both publications. In addition to increasing our circulation, we are expanding distribution, including approximately 18 elementary schools,” said Ferraro.
"I think the most exciting development is that we are focused on creating 'one stop' for information to help busy families” said Eriksen. “With twice the manpower scouring the Treasure Coast, our blended magazine will be overflowing with ideas to encourage family success. What we share is a strong commitment to our readers and to our advertisers. It wasn't as big a leap as some might believe. “
“From our inception, we have always tried to provide our readers with insightful articles and pertinent information pertaining to the entire Treasure Coast,” said, Ferraro. “In addition to publishing in print and online one of the largest, free /low cost family fun calendars each month, our goal has always been to provide parents with an arsenal of information they won’t find anywhere else to help make their jobs a little bit easier.”
“Additionally,” Ferraro said, “we feel this new venture will allow us to continue to grow Treasure Coast Parenting and provide parents and families with the information on products, services, and resources they seek in one publication — while also continuing our mission to embrace the Treasure Coast as a whole. This new relationship fits perfectly into our long-term goal to work with or aquire other parenting/family publications throughout the state of Florida, and perhaps other regions in the country, while at the same time keeping local content that readers enjoy.”
